Plan a weekend away Sep 13

There are a lot of people that have been telling themselves time and time again that they simply do not have the time or the money to go on holiday. This might be the way you have feeling. However it is important to know that even a little weekend getaway can provide you with the same benefits as a weeklong holiday. Sometimes, due to children, work schedules and finances, short breaks is all that you can get. No matter what, it is important to make sure that you are finding that little bit of time for yourself.

If you struggle financially, then you will want to start saving some money. Taking a little out of each pay check should help fund the trips. When you all pull your money together, you might just be able to afford extra mini breaks. Maybe country breaks and city breaks are in your future.

There are also those people who could do the yearly week long holiday, but decide to instead go for several shorter breaks over the course of the year. This way, you are getting all kinds of little breaks throughout the year. These little holidays will undoubtedly make things go easier for you. You always know that a little mini vacation is right around the corner. Having that special something to look forward to is very important.

So just what can you do for a weekend away? With travel time, it is not like you are going to be able to hop on a plane and travel to the other side of the world. However, there are plenty of options for you and your loved ones once you really put your mind to it. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas, use the Internet. There is a world of ideas available to you there.

You could pack up for a nice weekend retreat at a comfy bed and breakfast. You might not be aware of how many there are around, but a simple online search should lead you in the right direction. Then again, maybe that scene isn’t really what you are about. How about visiting a city? How far are you from the nearest large city?

Nice city weekends allow you to drive into the big city and explore all there is to explore. Maybe you can take in a play, or an opera or check out the city night life. If the city is large enough, you might find there are things you will have to miss out on. But then there is always to option of coming back.

There is also the idea that after you grow tired of the city hoping, that you take short breaks to go visit friends and family that you normally do not get to see. With these breaks, there is a good chance you can stay with your family or friends. This would save you having to pay for accommodation. They will be able to show you the sights of their home town; it is always better when you are shown around by someone who knows the place. It is also a great way to stay in touch with those you care about.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to do when it comes to mini breaks. You could start your planning right now and be on your way this weekend. All you have to do is to decide where you are going to go and how you are going to get there. It is not that difficult. You simply have to make it happen.

How to Get the Best Deals for City Breaks Sep 14

The recession is affecting everyone’s holiday plans in the UK, causing more people to stay at home rather than take their usual holidays abroad, or city breaks in Europe. This doesn’t have to be the case though, as you can earn free flights and free stays in hotels across the UK, Europe and worldwide by collecting Airmiles.

When you spend money using a Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo Credit Card account, you’ll be collecting Airmiles and, when you collect Airmiles, you can save up for free flights to many city break destinations. So, Airmiles are a great way to save money on a city break.

For a short trip to Europe, for example to Paris, Rome or Madrid, it wouldn’t take long for you to collect enough Airmiles to exchange for the free flights.

If you’re not an Airmiles Duo account holder, you can still collect Airmiles when you shop at Tesco, by swapping your Tesco Clubcard points for Airmiles, which can be used for free flights. Spending your Clubcard points on free flights is much more enjoyable than getting money off your weekly shopping. Other ways to collect Airmiles include shopping at hundreds of online stores, such as eBay.co.uk and johnlewis.com, via the Airmiles eStore. You can even collect Airmiles while filling up with fuel. If you sign up for a Shell Drivers’ Club card, you can convert your Shell Drivers’ Club points into Airmiles.
