Top Tips To Find A Cheap Cruise Holiday Apr 15

Whether you are booking a cruise for a simple holiday away from home, or it is for a special celebration like a honeymoon, cheap cruises don’t have to feel cheap. As a matter of fact, there are many cruise lines that offer package deals throughout the year to make your trip easier to pay for. When you are searching for the right deal make sure you check with a number of cruise companies before making your decision. You don’t want to find out later that you could have had a better cabin if you had done some more research beforehand.

While doing your search for the best deals, you will want to check online prices as well as speak with travel agents. It is not always true that online booking will provide the best price. Besides, you really will want to have a chance to speak with someone in person to get any questions answered right away. Travel agents will also have information on most of the cheap cruises available so it is like a one stop shopping experience.

Also, as you peruse information about the best cruises around, you will want to ask about any special features that you will not want to miss out on. Things like onboard credit and complimentary excursions on shore, and if you will be bringing children along you should ask about free places for them as well. You will also want to be certain that you have all the information to help you understand the details about flights, transfers, parking, and other facts that are pertinent to your cruise.

You might also want to consider scheduling your cruise out of season, i.e. not through July and August. Away from these months business is slower for cruise lines and they will be able to offer you cheap cruise deals. That still leaves a large range of dates to plan for. If your trip does not include children then there is no reason not to make your plans during these months and you can save a good deal of money.

One way to find cheap cruises is to sign up for newsletters that are sent out by travel agents. Using the information contained within these means you may even be able to be ahead of the game when it comes to booking during a special promotion. Sometimes last minute deals are the best way to find the best price, if you are flexible with your dates of travel. Customer loyalty programs are another good way to save money on cruises if you are a frequent cruiser.

Now that you have a bit more information about cheap cruises, you should be ready to set a date and book your trip.

Online Guides versus Tangible Guidebooks Apr 15

There are a whole host of travel sites providing travel guides online but you can’t take them with you when travelling. Okay they are perfect for preparing travellers with useful information and inspiration for holiday ideas but here are 5 reasons why guidebooks make an ideal travel companion.

1) Guidebooks offer lots of peripheral information

Besides typical information on sightseeing, attractions and accommodation, guidebooks will also provide you with essential information on the following:

• Medical advice
• Illnesses
• Money
• Travel Safety – Do’s and Don’ts
• Local Scams

2) They are written from a traveller’s point of view

Not to discredit any online publications but you don’t always know who has written them and most online travel guides are produced by companies wishing to sell you holidays. Most of the better well known guidebooks are actually written from firsthand experienced travellers. These books are usually packed full of helpful advice that can be trusted.

3) Guidebooks can help you find your way

In most guidebooks you will find small maps which can prove very useful when navigating your way around the city. This means if you get lost you can consult your guidebook to help.

4) Guidebooks are a time killer

On lengthy journeys between destinations you can whip out your guidebook and start reading about your destination ahead of time. You can research the cheapest hotels the best places to eat before you arrive. Unless you are super organised and written everything down and printed everything onto paper to take with you, it is a little hard to try and remember everything you read online.

5) You don’t have to plan too far ahead

If you are travelling for a long period it will be impossible to plan everything ahead of time. With your guidebook you can just read about the destination once you arrive there.

A few tips when purchasing a guidebook:

• Always check you have the most up-to-date publication
• Don’t choose one book that covers 5 countries, books focusing on one destination will provide you with better detail
• You don’t always have to buy a guidebook before you go, you can usually pick up cheap books second hand from other travellers

In summary you will find very valuable information online for almost every destination you might wish to travel to, however they aren’t tangible and you can’t take them with you. You can save yourself a lot of trouble by travelling with a guidebook written by experienced travellers and will save you from planning too far ahead. However you need to be sure that you choose a guidebook written from a reputable company.

A holiday shared with the company of friends can help make rest and relaxation especially enjoyable, and there are many ways to plan for such a trip to help ensure that everything runs smoothly. Today’s many options for cheap travel can help make a vacation to nearly any destination less costly, and taking advantage of the group dynamic to split fees will allow any travel budget to be stretched and toned to its fullest potential.
