The city has lots of cultural attractions that are a match for the stunning scenery, and is notable for its unusual architecture. This can be seen by visiting Constantia, which shows the best of Cape Town’s German, French, Indonesian and Dutch architectural influences. There’s a lively cultural scene too, with the Artscape Theatre Centre being the nerve centre of performing arts in the city.
With plenty of cheap flights to the city available, you’ll have enough cash to enjoy the shopping on offer at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Part of the docks at Cape Town’s port, it’s the city’s most popular tourist attraction. Apart from the boutiques and bargains available, part of its charm is that it is still a working port. The Nelson Mandela Gateway is located there, and it’s possible to take a ferry to locations such as the bustling Simon’s Town.
